Pros: Beautiful, handcrafted feel, elegant appointments, and comfortable to hold and play.
Cons: Thin body results in thin, unplugged sound.
The F65CE was Guild's top-of-the-line thinline acoustic electric guitar before production stopped in Rhode Island. AAA spruce top, ebony bridge and fingerboard, abalone appointments around the rosette and fretboard, and the G-shield logo on the head resulted in a sexy looking guitar with great plugged in sound. The Fishman system was top notch and the ease of play due to the thinner body was a nice touch.
Unfortunately, the unplugged sound was nowhere to be found. Most of the people who would own one of these should expect the same - use it for the stage with a good PA system - like on a worship team or with a band...but don't attempt to strum unplugged in a group - you'll get drowned out.
Other than that, the quality is superb on this guitar - but why couldn't Guild make this in a solid body instead of the laminates?
