Pros: Small so you can't get lost.
Cons: Still waiting for more choices of shops.
The Bottom Line: What better place to visit on a rainy day. You may even get a bargain. I did today. Tops at J.C.Penny for $2.77.
What a deal.

| Susie-34668's Full Review: Gulf View Square Mall |
Now tell me, hasn't everyone heard of Gulf View Square Mall.
The Mall opens an hour early so that the walkers can get their workout. Wow betide anyone walking in the wrong direction, or slowing them down, they all have their own routines. So it opens at 9am and the stores at 10am. Leading up to Christmas there are extended times. I know, I worked one season at J.C. Penny, and realized what long hours they were.
Anyway no-one can get lost in our Mall. Sears at one end, Dillards at the other, Burdines and J.C. Penny, located on the north (backside) of the Mall. An empty departmental store to the south. This was Dillards, but when Montgommery Ward went out, they took over the larger store.
Jewelry stores seem to be the 'in' thing. From, Avanti Gold, Avanti jewelers, Friedman's, Gold N Time, Gordon's, Jewels N time, Kay, Litman, Marks and Morgan, Piercing Pagoda, Precious Gems, Silver & Gold Connections, and Zales. Most of these are much higher prices than stores that don't have to pay 'Mall rent'. However, we have been lucky enough to get the odd bargain.
Then I think Cellular phone companies come in a close second. From Verizon, T-Mobile, Nextel, Cingular, and of course the booths that sell a combination of several of them. I always wait until a free phone comes along, including all the accessories.
Mens and Women's stores are similar to the rest of the malls, except we have less, as it is a smaller mall, than those in the Tampa Bay area. I was delighted when we finally got a Victoria's Secret. Than came along Old Navy.
Plenty of shoe shops. From Payless to Foot Locker and Rack Room Shoes.
Only one toy store. K.B. Toys, but Toys R Us is just across the road, so the kids do not miss out.
Len loves to go into Ritz Camera and also Radio Shack. Spent a lot of money in both stores. Things remembered is only a booth. Can you believe that. Every other Mall I have been in, they have a nice size shop.
One of my favorite places to browse is Liz's Hallmark card shop. I purchase all my cards here, and have one of their frequent purchase cards. This way I get coupons to purchase more cards. Love their half price stuff after Christmas. My grand-daughter just loves the gold seals they pop in with the cards. I always ask for extra to send to her.
There is an Art Framing store, Bath & Body Works, Bealls Home Outlet, Fletcher Music, G.N.C., Lenscrafters, Mall News Stand (I use for my Florida lottery tickets), Merle Norman, My Florist, Pandemonium, Park's Dollar Store (who will not give refunds on faulty goods). I had to go to the Mall Manager to get my money back. Smoke N' Stuff, Spencer Gifts, Sunglass Hut, TagMaster, Trade Secret, Vitamin World, Wicks N Sticks.
Just recently we got a Sam Goody Music store. This brings in a lot of teenagers. We may live in 'retiree county', but it's great to get something different.
Len and I know all the people who work at the Quick Test Opinion center. You guess it, I do as many surveys as I can. I want companies to know my Epinion, or is that Opinion. Anyway we know the people by first names. Whenever we are walking the mall, if they have a survey in either of our age groups, they always check to see if we are eligible to do it.
Finally I had better mention the food court.
A & W American Food.
Boubon Street Grill.
Chick-fil-A.
China Max.
Subway.
Village Pizza.
There is the usual seating area and restrooms. We often have a chick-fil-a sandwich, or just stop for coffee. There are other food places around the Mall. Auntie Ann's Soft Pretzels, Bagel Queen, Barnie's Coffee & Tea Co. Chocolates by Michelle, Orange Julius, Schnickel Fritz, and a wonderful restaurant, Sam Seltzer. You can enter this restaurant either from the Mall or from outside the building. Check out my review on this amazing chain. Sam Seltzer review
We had a large Carousel in the center of the small. That has now gone and we have a child's size one now. It is a shame for the elderly who used to get a thrill, going back to their childhood.
Our mall is situated in Port Richey, Florida. It is on U.S.19 opposite Embassy Blvd. If you need directions call 727-848-3600, or check out www.gulf-view-square.com
I think I ought to have checked that site out before writing my review. Still I think personal information is more helpful.
Today we visited the Mall twice. What else is there to do when the weather is so hot, and yes, I did a survey.
On the third Tuesday of each month is SASSY. Seniors are something special all year round. This is a jam packed 4 hours, from 10am to 2pm. Lots of live entertainment, tables jammed with information, free draws, one of the local hospitals giving free tests, and lots more.
So if you are ever in my area come check it out. Maybe it is smaller than most Malls, but it is our Mall and we all visit often.
Thank you for reading.
Susie.
