Gun was a launch title for the Xbox 360 and even though the graphics didn't show anything next generation about it, it still is a very fun game and has a lot of fun achievements.
Story
Gun is a wild wild west shooter and you play as a cowboy named Colton White. At the beginning of the story the person who raised you gets killed by an evil group of people. You must go through the game killing all of this lawman's guys on the way, and while doing this you have a bunch of quests to accomplish. There are a bunch of twists and turns in the story and it is a big part of the game and is definately a great story.
Gameplay 9/10
The game feels like Grand Theft Auto and the game Red Dead Revolver. Your grounds are a huge wild west ground, sometimes bandits will reside in an area and sometimes there will be Indians. There are some towns where the people are really cruel and most of the people are involved with the bar scene, and there are towns where the people are a little more civilized.
In the game there are tons of missions, but most of the main stoy missions involve getting out of a sticky situation with help of your weapons. Your weapons generally range from pistols and rifles. The gunplay is made more intense by a bullet time sort thing, the general gunning is in a third person view where you have the crosshairs in the middle of the screen, and if you click the right thumbstick you go into a first person slow motion mode where your bullets are stronger and more accurate.
The main quest is really on the short side being at only about six to seven hours to get from start to finish. This is defintely a game that can be played again due to an intense story and very fun gameplay. The thing that definately lengthens the game is the sidequests. When you finish sidequests you get money and achievements and you are really going to want to invest your time in these. The sidequests are gold mining, bounty hunting, and hunting sidequests. I had a great time getting 0 on this game and I think you will too.
A cool thing about the gameplay is that you can actually take any horse in the game and ride it and some horses are faster than others. Sometimes in an intense battle you are going to want to get a headshot on the guy who is riding the horse and then steal his horse, thus making the battle much easier being on the horse. It's a great concept and makes it feel even more like Grand Theft Auto.
So all in all, the game is an intense game through the start to the finish and I definately suggest getting this game if you are in the mood for a great action shooting game.
Graphics7/10
The games graphics really haven't really improved over the console version that much, the graphics aren't horrible, but they could have been much more improved. You don't really notice the graphics at being that bad because the gameplay is just amazing.
The framerate almost never drops, which is really great because it would be really annoying to be on horseback while the game skips around.
Sound9/10
Just about every character in the game does voicework and does it well, especially the main characters. Some of the music doesn't really sound like the western music your used to but a lot of the bars you go into will have the western piano playing. All the sounds of the gunshots and animals making noises sound terrific!
Last Words
This game was a great game and I recommend anyone to buy it or rent it!
