Cons: A new low in customer service.
Handyman club sounded great. You get their magazine, and they send you stuff to try. You write a review, and you get to keep the stuff. WOW! Too good to be true.
Yes, it IS too good to be true. About 3 weeks after paying for 2 years via credit card, I received another bill. I emailed and they apologized. A week after that, I get a book in the mail which I have to either buy or return. This was never mentioned in the promotional materials. If you buy the book, you get another free item to try. And, according to the enclosed letter, every time you BUY a book, you get another FREE product to try. So I cancelled. I got a refund check for 1 year. I emailed. They said that I had to prove that I paid for 2 years. So I sent an screen shot of my credit card statement. They emailed back that they needed a real paper copy mailed to them.I mentioned the word "lawyer" in an email and a few minutes later, I got an email back saying that an emailed screenshot of my credit card statement would be fine. I sent that and am now waiting for a response.
This is where I stand as of today. Handyman Club gives an all time new low mark to customer service. I never thought things could get so screwed up with a simple magazine subscription.
