Pros:Light, looks good, as close to no helmet as you can get legally.
Cons:Visor is junk, chips easily, not as safe in a collision.
The Bottom Line: Better helmet for slow speed riding than fast highway trips, I recommend this on one condition. You have another helmet for colder days and long trips.

I purchased this helmet in 2001 as a split second decision while browsing at my local Honda dealer. Because it was last years model, it was on sale for $69 in the clearance bin. I had just picked up my first Honda streetbike, and was learning to ride. Up til this point, I had been using my full face HJC CL-11 snowmobile helmet. The CL-11 was to heavy and restrictive for motorcycle use, at least for me anyway. The FG-2 looked good, and seemed a better way to go for comfort. I understand (and so should you) this helmet won't be as safe as a full face or 3/4 helmet, but it's a compromise I can live with. At least I hope I live with it! (sorry, morbid joke)
I have really enjoyed using it over the summer, and have ridden about 2,000 miles while wearing it. During that time, I've come to have strong feelings about this helmet. I'll list the positives and negatives below.
This helmet looks great, and since my bike is a cruiser style (Honda Shadow) it fits with the image quite well. I cannot see anyone riding a sportbike while wearing this helmet, it would look very out of place. The white helmet color is accented nicely by the black visor, and white is very visible for safety. While riding behind me, my buddies mentioned that my helmet was much more visible than my friend's silver and black models.
In the summer this helmet is very cool. You don't get as sweaty or itchy when you are stuck in slow traffic. The downside to this is you get a lot of wind at highway speeds. This model (FG-2)_comes with a storm flap that zips onto the neck area. I covers your ears and neck for better wind and rain protection. I have only used it once, and it works well. Most days if the weather looks cold, I'll just wear a different helmet.
Safety and awareness are improved with this helmet, except in the area of head protection in a collision. Visibility is excellent and peripheral vision is just as good as having no helmet. Sounds are much easier to hear, both the cars around you and your own bike.
The visor on this helmet is impossible to adjust. It has three button style snaps that you pop to remove the visor. After removing it four times, yes only FOUR times... the outer buttons ripped out of the helmet. They were VERY tight, and I had to use a thin bladed prybar to pop them free. I talked to the dealer, and they agreed that the visor was removeable. After the snaps broke, the visor rattled uncontrollably. I did the only thing I could, and attached double sided sticky tape to hold the visor on.
The coating on the helmet chips very easily, much more so than other helmets I've had. Be very careful where you set it down, or be prepared to have many spots of chipped gray showing through the white.
If you can have 2 or 3 helmets, I would recommend this model to you. As a sunny day in town helmet it excels. For long trips, cold weather, or rainy days it is miserable. The visor is a big problem for me, as I wish I could take it off on cloudy days and re-install it on sunny ones. This is not possible due to the design of the snap system.
Test it out at the dealer before buying, and make sure yours works better than mine did!
