The last month has brought on lots of rain with Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita to the Baton Rouge area. With the rain, all the creepy crawlers are looking for dry space and trying their best to enter my home and my aviary. I decided to pick up something at the store. The product I chose was Ortho Home Defense Indoor Insect Killer, 32 oz. Spray.
Why Did I Choose This Product?
The claim that this product was safe for pets was the main selling point for me. We have mini dachshunds in the house, parrots, and a Persian Cat. The label also claims that this product is safe to use around children and FOOD. I do not want to test it to that extent but wanted to give this product a chance.
The other main selling point was that Ortho Home Defense Indoor Insect Killer, 32 oz. Spray is made with orange peel extract giving it a nice fragrance instead of the normal chemical odor of most bug sprays.
Packaging
Ortho Home Defense Indoor Insect Killer, 32 oz. Spray comes in a 32. oz. spray bottle that is a see-through green color. The bottle is plastic and has a yellow spray nozzle for easy use. The trigger spray is easy to use and allows you to direct spray in the area or location needed. You can set the nozzle to either spray or stream.
What Does Ortho Have To Say?

How Did It Perform?
I have been pleased with this product because it does work. I was having an ant problem in the aviary. The ants were coming in under the door to find dry area. Spraying the threshhold with Ortho Home Defense Indoor Insect Killer, 32 oz. Spray and along the baseboards have taken care of my ant problem.
Now in the house, we had seen a couple roaches. It is way too soon for them to be trying to invade. We haven't even had any fall weather or cool snaps which usually brings them in. I sprayed the Ortho Home Defense Indoor Insect Killer, 32 oz. Spray around all the outside doors and also around baseboards in those rooms. I haven't seen any more nasty roaches so I'm assuming this product did the job.
The fragrance is also a nice thing about Ortho Home Defense Indoor Insect Killer, 32 oz. Spray. It has a citrus orange fragrance which is nicer than chemicals in my boo any day of the week!
Product Warnings
Ortho advises to not re-use the container when emptied, to dispose of in trash or recycle. I would think disposal would be the better alternative since this is an insecticide. This product should not be used near fire or flames and should be stored in a cool area with temperatures below 130 degrees.
Ortho Guarantee
Ortho guarantees this product 100%. If not satisfied they will refund your money when you mail in proof of purchase.
