Pros: None
Cons: Two different failures on two different units. HP Support limited to predefined situations.
The Bottom Line: I wouldn't recommend this product as I've had two different units fail with different problems. I don't think I would buy any HP products again.

| alorac's Full Review: Hewlett Packard OfficeJet d145 InkJet Printer |
My HP Officejet D145 performed well for the first few months, although I was not impressed with how plastic and cheap everything was especially the paper tray which is very stiff. All of a sudden, it started having carriage problems; the carriage would get stuck and not move at all. I went thru HP support and after many troubleshooting exercises, they decided to replace it with a refurbished unit since it was still under warranty.
After only a few months of very limited use of the new unit, it started printing horribly faded and streaked pages. After going through all the troubleshooting exercises recommended in the online help, cleaning the ink cartridges and cleaning the print heads according to the instructions, there was no improvement. So, I purchased all new ink cartridges and all new print heads totalling over a hundred dollars! Still, no change what so ever in the print performance.
The item is now out of warranty, because HP failed to inform me that I had received an additional 3 months of warranty with the replacement. Despite the fact, that the replacement failed within the warranty period, they will not do anything to rectify the situation at this point. Moreover, all of the authorized service centers they have referred me to to get the unit repaired on my own, do not service this product. Every time I've called HP Support, they have trouble finding information on my case and they enjoy transferring my calls amongst a few of their departments back and forth when they don't know what to do. HP Support is disorganized and without empowerment to rectify situations not defined in their cue cards.
I am extremely disappointed with the product and the HP service especially considering the price of the unit and all the money spent on ink cartridges and new print heads for nothing.
