Pros: A MACHINE YOU'LL FALL IN LOVE WITH
Cons: LIKES TO USE INK
The Bottom Line: No other brand on the market is even worth considering. I tried each one mano a mano and there is no contest!

I've had Canons, Lexmarks, Xeroxes, Panasonics, and Toshibas. This HP saves me 50% of the time it would take to use any other machine. The automatic document feeder is FAULTLESS, and this alone is a total relief, as other feeders I've used always intake two or more pages sometimes during the fax send, or the copy function. Not the HP. Also, when you buy your machine from Costco, if you don't like it 10 years from now, take it back for a full-price refund as long as you're a Costco member!
The printer is photorealistic in quality, especially on Kodak premium paper, high gloss. You just can't beat the quality or the speed. The two sided printing is amazing, and perfect for brochures. One of the nicest features is being able to set the resolution at which you receive faxes (to save ink), and, once set, it doesn't change until you change it again! The same is true for copies; and you'll never need even the standard mode to copy or receive faxes, because the HP prints out so beautifully in draft mode!! The only difference between the D145 and it's lesser brother, the D135, is the presence of slots in the D145 that allow you to place ANY memory card from your digital camera directly into the printer; then, a thumbnail of all photos on your card (or selected photos) is printed out. Amazingly, you pick what size you want for any prints, the resolution you want for any prints, place that printout in the flatbed scanner already present, and this darned printer reads the information and gives you your prints.
It seems peculiar to be in love with a peripheral, but I am in love with this unit.
