Pros: Very reliable, easy to use, good overall in all functions
Cons: Noisy esp. scanner, uses ink way too fast and ink is pricey!
The Bottom Line: Yes, IF you are not strapped for cash; Epson or Cannon might do better. Check for generic cartridges as well.

| digtalcomp's Full Review: Hewlett Packard OfficeJet d145 InkJet Printer |
I like it, overall, but as much as it's used in a 4 person Real Estate Office, it can be annoying at times.
The good stuff:
*It works, generally, I can count on this machine and it's nice to have something multifunction, especially with a flatbed scanner.
*It receives faxes even though I'm on the Internet. It does hang me up, though.
*Would meet most people's needs for presentations.
* Software is pretty good for most uses.
* Easy to add and remove print cartridges
* Paper jams are infrequent and are easy to fix
* Fast printer, has increased productivity
BAD NEWS:
*Ink HOG! And the ink is expensive, too. If I'm going to pay $25 for an ink cartridge, they could at least give me a bigger one.
* Loud! This thing shakes and make noises like it's going to break, but it's fine. Sometimes it makes noises for no reason, it isn't going to sleep or anything. Weird.
* I get a fair amount of blank pages coming out. Called HP on this, they were very nice, and buying heavier paper fixed this somewhat, but I still get bad printouts from pages sticking together or the printer pulling through more than one page. It is only about twice a week in a busy office, though.
* Once in a while, I just can't figure out how to do something fairly important, and Help menus are not enough.
* Scanning could be more powerful and less noisy.
