Pros: Great quality All in One plus it will copy, fax, and scan legal sized documents.
Cons: If you have an old computer you'll need to special order the parallel adapter.
The Bottom Line: The HP D135 is an excellent, easy to use multifunction machine that does not make any sacrifices on any of the functions.

When I first saw the Hewlett Packard d135 operate at Office Depot I knew I had to have the machine. The demo for this machine delivered excellent color print quality on plain copy paper. So I went ahead and paid the $500 for this machine hoping that I would not be disappointed.
Well the D135 itself did not disappoint. Setting up the D135 was a snap. The installation of the software was also flawless. The HP software makes it easy to scan documents and fax as well as configure the copier. However as I use the machine more I seem to rely on the HP software less and less. I just use my image editing program to scan and make any changes to fax or copier using the menu on the machine. The layout of the buttons makes it easy to fax, copy, or scan. The buttons for each function are labeled and grouped together with the number pad in the center.
The D135 does not compromise its printing abilities. This machine delivers excellent print quality. I was able to get excellent photos on a variety of photo papers from the generic Office Depot paper to HPs own photo paper. The cartridges for this machine are cheap (at least compared to the other HP printer cartridges). The black is only $21.99 and the color cartridge is $26.99. However there are print heads that will need to be replaced in the future and they are $33.99 for each color. I have been using to machine to print or copy something every other day for 3 months and have not seen a need to replace the print heads and I have not yet had to replace the ink cartridges. During that time I have printed about ten 8x10 photos as well printed and copied and other stuff. Therefore I am getting a very good performance out of the cartridges. The quality of the copies and the scans are just as good.
This All in One also has the ability to expand. A network adapter can be added if I decide to add this machine to a network on the future. I can also add a second paper try if I need to use two types of paper in the future.
There is only one thing about the D135 that concerns me. It has to deal with people who need a heavy duty color all in one but do not have USB ports on there computer. Those people must special order the parallel adapter. It seems like HP is trying to push away people with older computers.
However the HP D135 is an all in one that does everything it is suppose to do very well.
