First, I would like to let you know a little bit of the technical stuff about this machine. It has....
...The silver/purple case id always a cool thing...
...It's pretty fast, and it runs Win 2000 Pro
...Battery lasts at least 3 hours
...Intel PIII-600/500 Speedstep
...Hot-swap CD-ROM/floppy
...64 MB RAM
...14.1 TFT
...5.7 GB HDD
This is HP's replacement to the 4150… and it's worthwhile. This solution for travelers even offers both a built-in 56K modem and a Ethernet port for networks or RoadRunner-type Internet service.
I have two pieces of advice for you:
1 - I would deffinately add more RAM, especially if you stick with Windows 2000 Pro. It will help with keeping it running fast
2 - Make sure you use HP's utility that verifies you can remove you CD-ROM/floppy drive before you actually try to hot-swap. If you don't, you might run into some issues.
Besides this, HP's OmniBook 6000 is a great machine, being both fast and reliable. I would recommend it for any portable user that wants both power and value.
