Dollar for dollar, its one of the fastest featured-packed systems on the market right now! From the Pentium III-600 mz processor to the 27 GIG Hard Drive, this one screams from the moment its unpacked. Add in the DVD drive and the CDR-RW drive with the 128 MEG of RAM and the Rockwell 56 V.Everything modem and you've got a machine that is definitely "over the top."
It comes pre-loaded with WIN 98 SE and outstanding bundled software. After buying the computer, HP gives you the option of ordering three more titles for free or adding additional titles for reduced costs. It offers one of the easiest cases to remove a panel and allow upgrades.
From the moment it is plugged in, it is Internet ready with several Internet Service Providers to choose or to utilize one's existing provider. The keyboard has Internet shortcuts and the ability to control the DVD drive. It even has the speaker control knob on the keyboard.
One 5.25 drive is available for upgrade and 3 PCI slots and one 16 bit slot is available inside for upgrades. The recovery tools CD is one of the best around! A digital camera port and the a USB port is on the FRONT of the case. The footprint is perfect for desktop applications. One would be hard pressed to find a computer with this many features at or near this price. It offers as much or more than any other computer around!
After owning this computer for over 6 months and using COMPAQ and DELL at work; I'll still stand behind what I've said. The COMPAQs require constant care and the DELL help line is always busy. Consequently the HP is the better buy for the price. It's a "killer" gaming machine and no business task will give it a problem. It has multi-tasking capabilities and utilizes them to the fullest.
