I purchased this product because of experience with HP. With its 733Mhz Intel Pentium III processor, HP CD-Writer Plus!, Pioneer DVD-ROM drive, and 36 GB (34 left after OS, etc.), you can't go wrong here. The only thing that irks me about this product is its puny graphics card. It uses an 8MB nVidia TNT Vanta card, which is a piece of junk by today's standards. A GeForce or Voodoo3 card would have made this MUCH better. Also, the lack of subwoofer becomes a bit annoying when playing games like Quake II, etc. There are 2 things that I have upgraded already-I put in a Voodoo3 card and a Sound Blaster Live! X-Gamer card. I also added the Klipsch Pro Media V.2-4 THX-certified speakers and subwoofer. Along with this computer I purchased a 19" Sony Trinitron Multiscan 420GS monitor that works great with it, running at very high resolutions. Overall, this is a great computer. Only a few upgrades and an Athlon would make it better.
