Pros: Good keyboard, screen, and a lot of features for the money
Cons: Heat, instability, unreliability
The Bottom Line: Two significant problems. HP could not resolve both.

Note: HP has forums on their site at http://bizforums.itrc.hp.com/cm/Home/1,,2,00.html where you can find more information on their products. I highly recommend visiting the site before purchasing.
My review will be short and to the point. In the five weeks I had the notebook I experienced more than my fair share of problems. The notebook locked up frequently (HP has since released a BIOS upgrade to solve this problem), and subsequently developed a networking problem that they have yet to resolve. (HP replaced the mother board in my unit--the problem remained.)
The notebook generates a fair amount of heat--more than equivalent machines that I've used at work. I would recommend using one at a store before purchasing. If you intend to use the machine on your lap I'd look elsewhere.
The CD burner works beautifully (and the HP software that accompanies it is top notch--very easy to use), the screen and keyboard seem to be well-made, and in all other areas it was just the machine I was looking for. Tons of memory (512MB) meant good performance with a full host of programs running.
I experienced no issues when using hibernation, with power management, or when using plug & play devices like a wireless network card. My only problems (which were significant enough to cause me to return it) were stability and networking.
