Pros: Beautiful display, elegant design, 4 programmable quick launch keys, USB
Cons: BIOS update needed right out of the box to solve aggravating system lockups.
The Bottom Line: Highly recommended for wireless web surfing and quick access to a computer for digital imaging without having to go to the bulky desktop.

Purchased the unit, brought it home, plugged it in, and for three days fought with taking it back due to the necessity of needing a BIOS update to prevent system lockups that occurred EVERY 20-30 min like clockwork. Fortunately the update is available on line via included software (e-Diag Tools). Tip: When trying to upgrade BIOS via E-Diag software one must create 'traffic' on one's internet connection by first downloading some other large file, say a game demo for instance. Then E-Diag will "see" your internet connection and do it's job. HP tech support has been notified of this apparent quirk. Once the software sees the connection you can stop downloading the game demo. Once connected the software checked, found, downloaded, and installed the necessary update. Since then the unit has been running very smoothly. No floppy disk for emergency start ups.
Other than this the unit is meeting the needs for which it was purchased, mobility. One piece of advertised digital video editing software is nowhere to be found. DVD/CD-RW combo is excellent, LCD excellent, ethernet port worked great, regular modem port worked, two USB ports, serial port, can connect external monitor, headphone, line in, wireless port, and "I-Link" for digital still & video cameras. WinXP, AMD 1800 (1.5GHZ), 15.1 screen, 2-2.5hrs battery life. Connected and still using Netgear MR314 wireless and have comepete freedom surfing the web from anywhere in my home.
