Pros: Great price for what you get! S-video output. 30 GB HD. DVD/CD-RW drive.
Cons: Gets hot after a couple of hours. Must buy external floppy (full rebate, though).
The Bottom Line: This is a great notebook computer at an incredible price. For the money, there isn't a better notebook out there.

I've been waiting for an affordable P4 with a 15" screen for a while now. After rebates, this PC was $1599 from Best Buy. I shopped around and this was the best deal I could find...
Gateway's comparable notebook is at least $100 more with a smaller hard drive and your choice of DVD or CD+RW, but not both in one without making it even more expensive. That was the nearest value I could find...
I have yet for this notebook to disappoint me. I used the S-video output to connect it to my TV the other day so my son could watch his read-along CD-ROM on the big screen. I was really pleased with the way it worked, although I wish you could use the LCD screen and the TV at the same time.
The only thing I could think of needing was a floppy drive and HP offers a full rebate on the cost of an external USB floppy from hpshopping.com.
It also gets rather hot after a couple hours of work. I don't see this as a fatal flaw, and I don't think it could really be designed any better in this area. All the other P4s I have seen have this same "problem."
Some people will complain about lack of WiFi, but I don't have a use for it at this time (my house is fully wired to a switch connected to my cable modem) and you get everything else at a great price.
After my first experience with the early touch pads, I've always liked the "eraser stub" pointer. The touchpad on my zt1175 has changed my mind. It works extremely well.
I highly recommend this PC to anyone looking for a high-end powered notebook at a value price.
