I shoped around for laptops for quite awhile before deciding on this one. I had never heard any bad news about hp so I figured it would be a reliable computer, boy was I wrong. But if your lucky enough to not have ti spaz out on you it's a great deal.
This computer comes loaded.
The cdrw/dvd drive works real well, I haven't have a single errored cdr yet, and I have been running other programs at the same time. The dvd works fine, and with the large screen it makes for an enjoyable movie watching experience. I have noticed a few things about the drive that I don't like. First it feels alittle loose in the computer. And two sometimes it hums and vibrates. I have no idea why it only does it some of the time but when it does it's annoying.
The harddrive is generous with 30 GB. I have already filled up half of it though. Because I have alot of movie, picture, and sound files. I'm not sure how hard it is to replace it with a larger one.
The processor seems fairly quick, fast enough for most applications. And the SD drive is cool if you have a pocket pc or mp3 player that uses sd cards.
It seems to good to be true and it is. In the 6 months that I have owned this computer it has been sent to HP twice. I have no idea what happens. All of a sudden it doesn't boot up correctly then they reformat the hd and you lose everything! Back up your files if you get this computer. Also this bad boy get pretty hot after awhile. I mean even with the fan kickin' away it manages to heat up. Luckly there is some sort of lemon law and if I return this computer one more time within the 1st year of purchase I get my money back. Here's hopin' it breaks down once more, so I can get a decent, reliable computer.
