I mainly purchased this computer for home use, to run games, the net and other programmes like MS Office and Visual Basic. I didn't need some state of the art 900hz computer with the works which is where I think a lot of people get caught up in and end up wasting money.
I needed something that was reasonably quick had a good size hard disk, could play all the latest games and was easily upgradeable.
I think a lot of people who buy computers for there home use overspend by buying these state of the art computers costing 5 grand+ for tasks that a smaller computer is more than capable of doing. And the thing that gets me most is that half the computers resources never gets used!!
This is exactly why I bought this computer because it can do everything I need it to quickly and easily.
Of course I would like a more powerful computer with more ram and a better graphics card but that cost a lot more. I got a printer with it as well as a 17 inch monitor and it does me well, i have had no problems what so ever with it and I can't see any occuring.
O.k here's some specs for you:
I got my computer in a package that involved a a Colour Printer and a 17 inch monitor as well as a internet package with an ISP.
The whole package came with:
64 mb of SDRAM.
32mb Riva TNT Graphics Card
15gb Hard Disk
660mhz
CDR/RW
CDROM
Polk Audio Speakers
17 inch Monitor
Wheel Mouse
Keyboard
56k Modem
Windows 98
MS Works
Adaptec cdr software
All this is adequate for the home user minus MS Office which I think is a must to have, especially if your just learning as a lot of business's use this software.
What it needs to improve:
Needs to take away the SDRAM and provide a Sound card.
MS Office 2000
Windows 2000
Scanner
Setting up was easily done with colour codes for where the plugs are to go in which holes.
Software was already loaded except for a few minor ones which where as simple few mouse clicks.
Fantastic guides to follow came with it and provided picture steps to follow.
I had the computer up and running within 5 minutes of taking it out of the box.
Installing the printer was easy with an easy manual to follow and step by step instructions on how to install the drivers and ink cartridges.
I can see in maybe under 6 months upgrading this computer to make it faster and better!
In the end this computer is an average computer for the average family with the average needs!!
A good computer for a good price.
