Cons: No 6 color ink system
The Bottom Line: A must get printer that wont disappoint that even the Pros recommend.

The HP 1315 is a great printer that has received numerous recommendations from Technical Review Editors and was PC Magazine's Editor's Choice in 2001 when the model 1st came out. I did a lot of research before deciding to buy this printer and was glad to read all the positive reviews. The printer produces great prints. It is fast but not as fast as a Canon but not as extremely slow as an Epson so its speed is acceptable. Text printing is very fast, clear and somewhat laser quality. Graphic printing is awesome and the best I have seen compared to other brands. The LCD display is bright and very helpful. On previous printers that I have owned that did not have a display, you were left in the dark when there was a printer problem and the computer did not state what was going on. With the display, the printer is constantly keeping the user informed of its status and options in case a problem comes up which I found is awesome and prevents headaches. This printer comes with an independent photo tray made for 4x6 paper which is a huge plus. On other printers that have top loading, you can only have one type of paper loaded at a time. With this printer, you can have a full tray of letter or legal (about 50-60 sheets) in the full size tray and about 20 in the 4x6 tray. This is a big plus for HP. The printer has an automatic paper detection device that automatically adjusts the printer to the proper print setting if left in automatic mode. When the printer is detecting the paper type, there is a bright blue light that shoots across the paper that looks like a laser beam which is really cool. The ink cartridges last a very long time. Having a prior Epson printer that was an ink guzzler, I am amazed at how many prints I have been able to print without the ink going down too much. Overall, I highly recommend this printer for anyone that wants numerous features, great prints and high quality construction.
