| rjspalma's Full Review: Hewlett Packard Photosmart 320 Digital Camera |
This review is intended for who wants to buy an used HP320 camera or even a new one. I'm not a professional photograph, and all that I will write here is according to my 2 years experience with this camera.
1 - If you want to take photos where the flash is always needed, you have to bring with you 3 packs of 4 AA batteries. This camera eats batteries, it's an open drain!
2 - Even if you are a total amateur photograph, for sure you want to define one or more settings besides the flash options or the quality options. In other words, you can't ajust anything.. neither a simple contrast.
3 - I use this camera with a 128Mb SD card. When you take a photo you have to wait about 3.5 seconds (in the best quality) so that you can lose a lot of what you wanted to shot. You can take 3 consecutively photos, but be prepared to wait about 12 seconds to take another photo.
4 - This camera works fine from 9Am to 17.30PM in the Summer. I'm not joking, we can take good exterior photos with a nice sunny light (the battery consumption reduces to 2 packs of AA batteries).
5 - At low light there is a enormous shutter lag, and this always produces blurry images. If you go to a museum where the flash is prohibited, you only take acceptable photos if the subjects is under a good direct light.
6 - The viewfinder is very interesting: you are taking a portrait photo, if you aim the target subject only with the viewfinder you will have a nice surprise in the final photo.. There's an enormous unaccurancy between the viewfinder and what the lens "see". The real problem is that we need to use the viewfinder very often because we want to save batteries!!
After 2 years working with this camera I understand a lot important properties that any camera should have. I bought this camera, because was an HP device and because of the 2 Megapixels price at the time. If you want a simple camera, with good quality photos with light, and you don't care about anything even if the photos are a bit blurry, this is your perfect choice ;)
