Pros: Good build quality
Cons: Appallingly unstable graphics driver
The Bottom Line: A well specced , nicely built machine let down by an appallingly unstable graphics driver. Avoid at all costs unless you enjoy rebooting your machine every 5 mins.

| golfgtinet's Full Review: Hewlett Packard OmniBook XE4500 (F4881HT) PC Noteb... |
The machine is attractive, well built and the 14.1 screen bright and clear. Unfortunately none of these good points are worth much when the machine constantly crashes every 5mins when daring to do anything as complicated as removing a column from an Excel spreadsheet. The problem lies with the appallingly unstable Mobility M6 graphics capability which protests and crashes XP every time any remotely intensive graphic operation is performed. HP support refuse to recognise the problem and blame third party software and no updated drivers are available. The only way this machine can be operated successfully is to remove all graphics acceleration making your $1800 dollar laptop work like the 233Meg machine it will undoubtedly replace. My advice would be to steer well clear of this machine until HP resolve the issue.
