Great little phone
Written: Sep 30, 2011
Rated a Somewhat Helpful Review by the Epinions community
This phone is now obsolete, but for those who are considering buying a used one, I'll add a few comments.
I have had this phone for about two years and it is very reliable. This week I accidentally dropped it from 24 feet (yikes!) and it continued to work fine. My Kingston micro-SD card died, not the phone, just the SD card. I replaced the SD and it's now fine. Friends have dropped iPhones from 2 feet and bricked them, so this is a really impressive unit.
It has a very slow processor and browsing the web is tedious waiting for the page to appear, but it does a good job fetching and displaying the pages. It is 3G only, but that is fast enough for this processor.
I reset the complete phone this week because it was having out-of-memory probems due to the email app. It doesn't seem to delete the email from storage, and the email is stored on the internal memory, not the SD card.
The camera has good resolution, but no zoom. It is mediocre in low light conditions. It takes average video, movement can be blurry.
It sometimes takes a while for the GPS to find satellites, but lately it has been faster, though I don't know why.
The talk and hang-up keys will probably lose their coating and you end up with an ugly back-lit button. Mine does not have this problem, but my wife's does. If you use you fingernail to push the button, you'll scrape off the coating. A used unit will likely have this problem.
It doesn't run the newest Android OS, so you can't get the newest features, but the older version works fine.
