Want your laundry to smell like bouquets, spring rain, or some other lovely scent? Then you don't want H.S. Scents - Scent A Way Dryer Sheets. If you are a hunter, and need to disguise the odor of you and your everyday home life, Fresh Earth is the way to go.
What & Why
These dryer sheets are designed to be used on hunting clothes. Someone that hunts, or knows someone that does, knows that out of place smells tend to drive the game away. This could be a human scent or any aroma he/she may carry on their clothing from home. I know my husband begs me not to spray my perfume in the house during hunting season. Anyway...
The Fresh Earth smell of a Scent A way dryer sheet makes me think of working in my garden. They have that slightly pungent odor of fresh turned ground. While fine for an outside smell, it is not altogether pleasant when it is inside my home. They do what they are meant to do, though. Our clothing comes out of the dryer static free and smelling of dirt. We prolong the use of the dryer sheet by placing it in a plastic garment bag with our clothing. We do not use them a second time, as the last thing we want is our clothing (and us) snapping with static electricity while hunting. They may work for a couple of loads, we're not willing to take the chance.
A pack of 10 sheets, bought for $4.99 at our local hunting & sports store, lasts us through the winter hunting seasons. They come in a resealable foil pack, that if used properly, keeps the dryer sheet scent locked in. We save the dryer sheets for our outer clothing, so we're not washing them every time we come back from a hunt. With the used dryer sheets in the garment bag, when we pull out our clothing there is enough Fresh Earth odor left to fill a room.
Do not use these on flame resistant clothing or children's sleepwear as they may reduce the flame resistance.
I would store them away from your regular dryer sheets. They look like and have the same texture as other dryer sheets. Without thinking I threw a H.S. Scents- Scent A Way Dryer Sheet in with a load of my work clothes. I had to re-wash them twice before I was satisfied I wasn't going to work smelling like I rolled around in the yard.
