Cons: This book can and will be used maliciously as it's essentially a guide for hacking!
The Bottom Line: Once you realize that people CAN see you on the internet and CAN get into your computer, you'll get this book and start defending yourself.

Being in the business of network security, I’m always looking for better sources of information regarding security and hacking. In my search, I’ve finally found a complete guide.
John Chirillo, a well-known hacker and security expert, writes hack Attacks Revealed. He has assembled the book (with the help of several hackers) under the guise of “to defend against hacks, you must become the hacker”. While I might agree with this philosophy, it unfortunately provides a step-by-step guide to becoming a hacker. Though I’m sure this book will be used in exactly that fashion, you must take the good with the bad.
This book serves as a guide on how hackers can get into your system and the damage they can do. It also provides steps on how to keep hackers out and what to do if they do get in.
No network person (or home user for that matter) should be without this book! The information provided is beneficial to anyone using a computer. It is a complete wealth of knowledge and is non-partisan to any computer or operating system.
Upon completion of this book YOU WILL BE a hacker and have a better understanding of what a hacker really is and what they can do. You’ll also set up your own security/hacking suit that comes bundled with the book on CD.
I can’t stress enough the value of this book or the benefit it will be in securing your own computer or network.
This book is very well written and easy to read though it can be a little “techie” at times.
The cover price is $59.99 US but can be found online for much less.
