This is an LCD TV/DVD player "combo". It was purchased online and was defective upon receipt (the DVD player didn't work). The LCD television screen was pretty cool, but the audio quality is horrendous. And it doesn't matter what kind of adjustments you make (there are several options). The speakers sound like they're just two tin cans!

The distributor (www.ibuydigital.com) refused to take back the TV and refund my money, so I turned to the manufacturer...HAIER America. (Avoid www.ibuydigital.com! Great deals, but no recourse if the item is defective...and NO customer service...just customer bashing.)
One month (and many telephone calls) later, I'm still waiting for HAIER to issue an RA (return authorization) and refund all of the purchase costs. At first, their customer service people insisted this little, 15" TV had to be serviced in-home! If a servicer couldn't be found in my area, then only the service department could 'replace' it.
At last tally, I received a message from HAIER telling me they were working on my 'DVD player'....then a call giving me a service number to contact (Sears Auto Service!?)....and finally a call informing me the TV could NOT be serviced in-home, and I must take it to....
No. Nope. Nyet. Nada. Absolutely not! The TV was defective when it arrived. I don't want to get it fixed. And I don't want another one (for which I'd probably have to pay the shipping).
The last HAIER rep I spoke to, directed me to fax the sales receipt and my phone number to HAIER. So here I sit. Waiting. They received the fax 36 hours ago. Do you think they'll call?
