Pros: It's cheap and it works.
So on my quest to clear this stubborn clog in my bathtub, I went to Home Depot again. (I tried the Drano Dual Foamer 2 days ago and it did nothing) This time I looked at everything on the shelves and tried to figure out what other people are buying. (Hey, if everyone is buying it, it must be somewhat good, right?) I noticed this one product called "Drain Care by Zep" was completely sold out. (Well, or it hasn't been restocked for a long time). So I decided to give this Zep brand a try. Out of all the Zep products, this one called "10 minute Hair Clog Remover" sounded like a perfect match. I bought the 64oz bottle. On the bottle it says "enough to remove 10 hair clogs". For $6.98 a bottle, 70 cents a clog, not bad at all.
After reading the instruction, I poured about 1/3 of the bottle into my drain carefully. (Well, I figured my clog was huge. It needed more liquid.) The bottle itself has a nice built-in handle. So there was no worry about slipping out of hand. The liquid really had no smell. Not to I try very hard to sniff it. But I didn't smell any chemical. There was no foam, no smoke, no nothing. The clear liquid just quietly doing its thing. I left the bathroom, closed the door and left the vent on.
I came back in exactly 10 mins. Just as the instruction says, I turned on my hot water and just let it run. At first, the water did start to pool up a bit. But after about 15 seconds, the water started to drain so fast that it sounded like there was a machine sucking the water out from the other end. I live in an apartment. I swear I probably have not only cleared my own clog, but also the clogs created by the tenant before me, and the tenant before the tenant before me....
Anyways, I highly recommend this product.
