Is there anything better than singing and playing the piano with your kids? There is, if you use awesome sheet music books from the largest sheet music supplier in the world, Hal Leonard! And the book you have in front of you is The Big Book Of Children's Movie Songs.
This is such a fun book that has all the lyrics, piano staffs and guitar cords that tribute such movies like Annie, Toy Story, Hercules, The Lion King, Prince of Egypt, Cinderella, 101 Dalmatians, Aladdin and others! You can have your own little band!! It is fun for kids (and big kids too) to learn all aspects of the song and the learn over and over from one instrument to the next and the repetition helps.
The fact that most kids have seen the popular movies that inspired the songbook is a big plus. They can jam the song "Cruella De Vil" and put their own evil twist on the tune. They can pretend to be an orphan, bouncing to "It's a Hard Knock Life". My son's favorite is "Playing with the Big Boys Now" from The Prince of Egypt. I love that you can use this with piano/keyboard or guitar, as we have both.
There are 66 songs spread beautifully among a whopping 312 pages. The book is thick and generous at 9' x 12" and holds well in a music stand, or even open on the bed in front of you. The pages are thick enough that they don't fall back to where you would lose your place, so it is easy to use.

If you are a music teacher, or more importantly, a music therapist, this is a wonderment. Your kids will be motivated to participate, and this isa must have for daycares, preschool and kindergarten classes. Even older kids, up to 6th grade would probably enjoy this the most.
It is easy to read from a distance, with good size lyrical words and notes. It is might be easy to make photocopies of whichever song your child wants to learn the most, it may be too overwhelming to try and tackle them all at once, as tempting as it will be!
