kld718's Full Review: Halls Fruit Breezers Cool Berry 25 Each
Im not a big fan of cough drops. To put it mildly, I simply cannot stand most of them because of the taste. The only cough drop that I could stand was the Ludens strawberry flavor. But I have big problems with them because they taste like candy and do not really help soothe your sore throat and handle your cough.
So when I noticed these Halls Fruit Breezers on sale at my local Walgreens, I decided to check them out to see if they would work for me. I hate being sick, and am always on the hunt for products that will help me recover from a cold in the shortest amount of time.
I bought these Halls Fruit Breezers in the Cool Berry flavor. They come in a very eye-catching blue plastic resealable pouch that is covered with what looks like water on the bottom of the bag, and little fruits (strawberry, raspberry, cherry) on the top. There are 25 drops per package.
Cool, soothing relief of everyday throat irritation.

~*~ My Thoughts ~*~
Obviously, I only use these when my sore throat is not severe enough to require cough syrup or prescription medication. If your sore throat is consistent and you are having other symptoms, I would forego these cough drops and consult your doctor.
I have found that I can seriously handle the taste of these Halls Fruit Breezers. I really try to stay away from the regular Halls cough drops because they just taste too much like medicine to me. But they do work, so I have found myself buying them on occasion because I have no other choice. Well, now I have that choice. Halls Fruit Breezers works almost as well as the regular Halls Cherry Mentho-Lyptus Drops. But they taste a whole lot better also. There is a medicinal taste, unlike Ludens, but thats a good thing because you almost know that these will have some kind of effect. The berry flavor is a mix of strawberry, raspberry, and cherry. I cannot for the life of me begin to describe what the three flavors taste like wrapped up in one drop but thats what it tastes like.
These drops are recommended for adults and those children 5 and up. I personally would not give my 5-year-old child a cough drop, especially since they are large enough to get stuck in a small childs throat.
Halls Fruit Breezers are non-mentholated and contain 14 calories per cough drop. I already said that I bought the 25-count pouch, but they also come in a small 8-drop package that is easy to slip into your purse if you are traveling and want to take these drops with you.
These cough drops are available at most drug stores. I have seen them at Walgreens, Eckerds, and CVS. I have also recently spotted them on sale for $.89 at Drugstore.com. I actually bought these drops at Walgreens for the regular price of $1.99 and then mailed the rebate away to get them for free. If you dont mind waiting for your rebate, then this is a great way to try the product for free.
Overall, I cannot complain about these drops. They seemed to work well enough to allow my nasal passages to become temporarily unclogged so that I could breath properly through my nose. They are not made for long-term effects; so do not think that these drops will cure you of your cold. Use these along with Cepacol Sore Throat Spray, and youll find yourself on the way to relief.
