Pros:Small size, attractive, easy to clean, heats quickly
Cons:Capacity is horrendous, even considering it's small footprint, toasts unevenly, toast falls and gets stuck
The Bottom Line:
Don't buy it unless you are single and hardly ever use it. (Then why have one to begin with?)
I have had this Toaster Oven for about 2 years now and really wish I had picked something else. I really bought it for it's small footprint, but that is about all I like about it now. The capacity is actually much smaller than seems like it would be. While the body is a decent size, the design doesn't allow for much space for the toast OR the oven, which are actually two separate spaces - they eat into each other's space. For the toater part, it doesn't fit anything but average sliced bread in the toaster part. I use a sandwhich bread that (I guess) is larger than average and the top sticks out and doesn't get toasted. If I put two slices in, I have to overlap them to get them to fit - obviously this creates a less than ideal toasting situation, which I deal with becuase I don't want to wait to toast 1 at a time. Larger items like bagels are near impossible to cram in to the narrow slot. I've had many pieces of bread fall down into the crevice and then get stuck. It's very hard to get it back out without mangling the piece of bread. If do put in a small piece of bread by itself, what does get toasted is not very even - dark and light spots.
As for the oven capacity, it is tiny. I can barely fit a layer of chicken nuggets in it. Forget about a potato. One slice of pizza fits nicely.
It is fairly easy to clean, and it does get hot quickly. It is aslo easy to use.
I think the design on this is really lacking. Reminds me of warnings of "hybrid" designs - it's not a good toaster and not a good oven. I loved my old toaster oven. Why can't they make something very simple that does a decent job? Unforunatley, I don't see very many toasters that get rave reviews. Why is this???
