I would suggest something besides this unit. It really looked like it was going to be the perfect little unit. Fits on the counter quite well. We are cramped for space on our counter so this was an added plus. It's not exactly a piece of artwork but not too ugly either.
We bought it for the sole reason of brewing a few mugs of coffee each morning so that my wife and I could each take a cup to work on the way out the door. Otherwise we don't drink much coffee at home. Don't really need more than 6 cups for that purpose. Should be perfect right?
Before bed tonight I programmed the clock and thought I'd try and set it up to brew in the morning shortly before my wife leaves for work and I start getting ready for work. Filled up the coffee container with the full 6-cups of water and poured it into the machine. Spilled a little water for my first time as it was a little ackward to fill. I then noticed water coming out the bottom of the unit.
Well that's where the review stops. I thought I had made a mess of my first try so I emptied the unit and started again. This time pouring carefully. Same result. Water coming out of the unit bottom around the vents for the heater. That seemed a real bad sign. I quickly unplugged and put it in the sink and tried again. If I put 6 cups in, 2 end up pouring out the bottom.
So I'd love to tell you more about the unit, how it brewed, and how it functions. All the good points of an accurate review. However, I searched online and found a review on Amazon and one at Target that expressed the same problems. So instead of trying again I think I will get my money back on this one. Sounds like a design flaw that needs corrected. Maybe others have had better luck, but it doesn't look promising for this little guy.
