I am in love with my Hamilton Beach 68220 1.5 Quart Ice Cream Maker! I actually just bought it 2 weeks ago at my local Sears. My kids were with me and they all wanted ice cream. It's kind of expensive to take 3 kids to Dairy Queen. Especially when they all want a large super duper blizzard! Now that I have this machine, I make all different types of ice cream!
This ice cream maker makes ice cream, frozen yogurt, and gelato in just 25-45 minutes. That is really fast compared to my old machine I had 15 years ago *hehehe*. I also love the fact it can make frozen yogurt, and gelato! I love that stuff, and it is so expensive to buy it at the store! Plus I cannot believe it is so easy to use! Just flip the extra large ingredient opening and add the ingredients. Then freeze!
The ice cream maker also doesn't need to be filled with ice and salt. Some of the old ice cream makers needed to be filled with 4 trays of ice, and a half a cup of salt! That was a pain, and also all the turning! That's the reason I never bought one in so many years! It was just too much work for a little bit of ice cream. It is all automatic. So it is so much easier to use! Good bye to the ice and salt! Thank god!
The Hamilton Beach 68220 1.5 Quart Ice Cream Maker also comes with recipes to make yummy ice cream. They show you how to make all different types of ice cream, gelato, and frozen. Plus all the different flavors you can make. My favorite recipe is the coffee gelato. It is so creamy! The ice cream maker makes it's so well. I cannot tell the difference between the one in the store, and the one I make! That's how good it is.
This ice cream maker is also easy to clean. It has the extra large opening at the top for easy access. When the ice cream is finished, I put a little warm water and soap in it. I use a sponge to clean it out. Nothing sticks to it. It is ice cream, what could possibly stick to it! It all melts away when warm water hits it.
The Hamilton Beach 68220 1.5 Quart Ice Cream Maker also has an easy locking lid. I like that option very much. Especially knowing I have 3 kids that like to get into everything I make *before it is done*. The good thing is it fits well into the freezer. It doesn't take up a lot of space. That is good because if it took up to much space, I wouldn't be able to use it much. I would have to take everything out of my freezer. It is the perfect size!
