The Hamilton Beach 70670 Food Processor makes food prepping very easy. I have used mine quite a few times. At about $55, it's very reasonable.

First of all, it has a 10 cup capacity. This is huge and accommodates large amounts of food. The base is black, a very basic color. It doesn't take up much space on a counter top or can be easily stored in a cabinet. The internal cord storage is great. You don't have to worry about folding up the cord and it getting in the way. It just stays inside the base until you need it.
The dial on the base is very simple. It has two settings - 0 and 2. 0 is off and 2 is the basic speed. It also has a Pulse setting as well.
The 2 discs are stainless steel and reversible, giving you 4 functions: slicing, shredding, crinkle cutting and fine shredding. They are really easy to place inside the bowl, near the blade. The blade is also stainless steel and with the 525 watt motor, the blade slices and chops through food quickly. You don't have to use the discs if you don't need them. For plain chopping, the blades will work fine on their own.
The large feed tube on top is great for adding food while the unit is in use. This tube is large enough to put food through without having to chop them up first. A whole cucumber or block of cheese fits easily into the tube. You can also use the tube to drizzle in oil when making a dressing for your salad. I do this all of the time. I never buy store salad dressings. It's so easy to make my own and they are much healthier that way too.
What you can do with this processor? Just about anything. Chop up vegetables for your salad. Slice up tomatoes and cucumbers and onions for your salads and sandwiches. Take a block of cheese and grate your own instead of buying the pre-shredded bags in your grocer which costs more. Create you own salsa or pico de gallo, right in the processor. Just add your ingredients and turn it on. Use the Pulse option to get it to the desired consistency. Make your own dressing to pour over your salad. Slice up some potatoes for some nice baked potatoes. They will cook quicker when you slice them into smaller pieces, add some olive oil, salt and pepper, and bake. They are delicious.
This processor makes prepping food really easy and fast. You no longer have to stand at your cutting board, chopping and slicing. Just put all of those foods into your food processor and let it do the work for you.
When you are done with the processor, the bowl, lid, and discs wash easily in the sink or dishwasher.
