Pros: Design, coffee strength settings, has great stainless steel accents, no glass container, and programmable.
Cons: Won't hold water, OR COFFEE! Leaks bad, all over the counter after 6 months use.
This is my second Hamilton Brew Station...one regular, and one Deluxe...AND MY LAST. The concept and look of the maker is wonderful. It has a wonderful clock, nice stainless steel accents, and great easy to use settings. The style is really ahead of the game. I really liked the fact that I didn't have a glass container to clean, and the fact that it was all basically self contained...wonderful. For those of us that really enjoy their java in the morning, there are several selections for flavor strengths, and the coffee is wonderful. The problem with this machine was the engineering. The initial designs must have looked great on paper, but that is as far as the concept got, because the tank (that holds the coffee) won't hold water...or coffee!! It has developed leaks in SEVERAL areas. First, there is an "O" ring under the heating plate, that has gone bad causing the coffee to leak back into the water...not good. AND, there is another leak in the front of tank where it is sealed between the bottom of the tank, and the sides that leaks so bad that more coffee ends up on the counter than in my cup!! BOTH pots developed the leak (onto the counter) after about 6 months of continued use. When you spend $79 for the deluxe model, and have to toss it after 6 months due to leaks and inability to find replacement parts or a new tank, it pretty much makes the entire maker worthless!! I do not recommend the Hamilton Beach Brew Station at all...let them hire a few engineers and work out the kinks for a few years before you waste your hard earned money...stay away from the Hamilton Beach Brew Station!!!
