Love the Brewstation, But had some problems.

Pros:No carafe, coffee tastes great, machine is attractive on the counter.
Cons:Tank leaks coffee after a couple of cleanings onto counter and into water reservoir.
The Bottom Line: Not worth buying. Other customers have had same problem. Even the replacement tank leaked. This is not a small inconvenience...it's a deal breaker!
I absolutely love the coffee from the BrewStation. The coffee maker looks sharp, has a brew timer so that it can be set to make at a specific time, and has several choices for brew types. The BrewStation can make 1-4 cups, robust flavor, normal, or decaf coffee. I like that it does not have a carafe, can fill large mugs and thermal cups.
We did have a problem with the leaking after about 3 months....very frustrating. We have to clean the tank often, since our well water has a good deal of minerals. I followed the directions on cleaning that came with the maker (used white vinegar). It was after the second cleaning that the tank began to leak. The leak was not only around the metal plate that comes in contact with the warmer, but also around the bottom edges of the tank.
I did email customer service and received a reply the next day. They sent us a new coffee tank, free of charge. I was impressed with the quick customer service. We have been using the new tank for about a month, so the verdict is still out on another leak. I will be very disappointed if this tank leaks also, since this is exactly what we want in a coffee maker. If the leak hadn't occurred, or the new tank doesn't develop a leak, this will be the best coffee maker we have owned.
UPDATE (7 MONTHS LATER):
The coffee maker is leaking again. Coffee leaks from the tank back into the water reservoir and onto the kitchen counter. I am very disappointed with the design malfunction of this coffee maker, because everything else about it is exactly what I want in a coffee maker.
The leak developed shortly after the 2nd or 3rd cleaning (as per instructions). Not only do we have to clean coffee off of the counter top, but I have to pick the entire machine up to dump coffee out that has leaked back into the bottom of the machine. I was hoping that the tank design was improved, but my experience doesn't support that.
I am now looking to purchase a new coffee maker (less than a year from this purchase) and I am frustrated since this machine had everything I wanted. The design problem on the Hamilton Beach BrewStation is still not solved and I am surprised that a company with such a good concept doesn't go a step further (even if there is a slight increase in cost) to produce a top-notch product.
