Pros: Love the timer to brew coffee each morning.
Cons: No light in the clock area for easy reading.
The Bottom Line: Great coffee with very little work. Stays hot & fresh with no rancid taste.

I have the 47214, not 24. But they are the same as far as perks go.
The most amazing coffeemaker that also causes quite a stir, not in the cup, but with friends who drop by for a coffee. They love the take a cup & get your own coffee. No pot to break, clean, burn coffee into. This is just a large black maker with a button to push twice to start the brewing or restart the 2 hour timer to keep the coffee fresh & hot. One very important item, if you intend to wake up to fresh coffee; when you add the water & coffee to the filter & put it all together closing the lid, you must push the on/off once to get it to flash & see PRO to the left of the time. If not, then it won't turn on at the time you programmed. It happened to me the first day ;-)
I bought at K-Mart a 10 cup Gold filter ($5) that I use instead of paper, which I find has an aftertaste. So I have no future purchases to make to use this.
Easy to lift the handles of the filter & the "pail", as I call it, that goes under my water dispenser of my Amana side by side for filtered water, which is all we drink. 12 cups of water fill fast as I scoop the coffee into the filter. Then pour the water into the side area to fill up the maker & topping off with the coffee filter, close lid & push the button. A filling guide on the outside tells you how much coffee has brewed so you can take a cup, push it back onto the dispenser switch to pour coffee right into the cup, similar to pop at a fast food restaurant
This is SO much better than taking a pot, dripping coffee on legs of guests, on the table making rings and coffee getting cold in the pot if not on heat. Now I can have a HOT cup of coffee at any time, as I know if I brewed it a 5AM by 7AM it will turn itself off with the 2 hour timer built right in it. So at 6:50AM I turn it off & back on for another 2 hours. It never gets rancid either.
Cleanup is a breeze, the "pail", filter & filter holder goes right inside the dishwasher & then back inside the maker. Or a quick rinse in the sink & it is ready to go.
Makes great tea also, just placing the bags in the "pail" & it brews slowly & evenly. Again just take your cup, slide it back into the dispenser switch & hot tea flows into your cup to enjoy with no mess. Great for cold & flu season to have hot water ready for instant soups, tea, Thera-flu or whatever. Remember it keeps for 2 hours, so you need to restart it for another 2 hours.
I have Hamilton Beach's juicer, hand mixer, and carpet shampooer. They make great products and not expensive for the quality.
