Pros: Inexpensive. Nicely engineered. Good coffee. Plain Jane coffee maker without lots of gadgets.
Cons: Wasn't free.
The Bottom Line: If you want a plain jane coffee maker without a carafe, at a reasonable price, this is a good one to go for.

| treazured's Full Review: Hamilton Beach Brew Station Coffee Maker 47224 |
Over my 40 plus years of drinking coffee, I have owned many coffee makers. My last coffee maker was a horribly expensive Braun with all the bells and whistles. It lived less than 6 months before the electronics died and though it was under warranty the song and dance I would have had to go through in order to first prove its age, then ship, and wait for them to say yes, it is broken, then fix or send me a replacement was more than I felt like doing. I bought the Hamilton Beach Brew Station Coffee Maker for several reasons. First, we have a no kill cat shelter. Cats seem to delight in making carafes crash to the floor and top heavy coffee makers are easily knocked over. Secondly and primarily, this coffee maker does not have any complex electronics. You push the button. I am a computer technician and have really "dirty" power in my home (out in the boonies), and unless an electronic appliance is on a UPS, if it has a lot of complex electronics, it does not last long. This coffee maker has lasted 6 months so far, and makes a decent cup of coffee. It does not grind the beans for me, big deal. I have a coffee grinder, two actually, one a burr model. It does not roast the beans for me, also not a big deal, I know how to do that myself, and do. It does not have a timer. Whooptie doo. I can push the button. When this one goes south, I will most likely replace it with another Hamilton Beach Brew Station maker unless they try to fancy it up with a lot of electronics.
