Why purchase something on line when all you have to do is go to your neighborhood Target store and for only twenty dollars you can pick up whatever you need. Such is the case with this electric carving knife made by Hamilton Beach. Hamilton Beach has been around twice as long as I have been on this earth and that is over 100 years. When you think of Hamilton beach, you can think of other products such as the electric mixer, sewing machines, fans, meat grinders, floor buffers and polishers, industrial size cake batter mixers, vacuum cleaners, food mixers and juicers, small appliances and accessories, and various blenders. They even have been associated with the likes of Joe Namath, Doug Flutie and Mickey Rooney. They went on to merge with the Proctor-Silex company where they added more coffee makers, can openers and even slow cookers to their arsenal of products. As far as I know these are still made in the USA. I know that I probably missed a lot of their products but I tried to remember what they have been associated with.

This knife comes with two stainless steel serrated blades that when you put the blades together and install them inside of the main body of the knife, they would shift back and forth to slice a perfect piece of meat for you. The blades are held together by the rivet at the end of one blade and a slot in the other blade. These two blades interlock in place to make a sliding motion when it is turned on, for cutting meat.
This also comes with a nice case and a fork to help you along at the holidays. The overall length of the blades are 9" and the length of the fork is about 11" long. The weight of this knife is just a little under 3 pounds. The only thing that is not dishwasher safe is the main body and cord of this knife. The other parts such as the blades and fork are dishwasher safe, but remain very sharp even after lots of washings and uses.
My first Hamilton Beach knife lasted for thirty years before we had to replace it because of the motor. I think that is an excellent to purchase the same brand. So, when the motor started going out because of a flood that we had to endure, we did not hesitate to replace it with the same brand name. We found this one at Target a little over a year ago. It has made it through a couple of turkey and ham dinners without any problems. This knife is not for the kids, it has remained very sharp even after cutting some thin bones and all of the abuse that we have put it through. The main body of this knife is contoured to fit your hand comfortably.
If you use this and you want a thicker slice of meat, all that you have to do is, while you are using the knife and going back and forth to cut your meat, just do a zig zag motion and you can make any thickness that you desire. This knife is just a little noisy and has stayed sharp, so you probably need to keep this in another spot or just keep it inside its case for protection against inadvertent cutting of you or your families hands while digging in the utensil drawer. Once you start using this electric knife you will never use another knife to cut a turkey or ham again. You will also want to experiment on any roasts that you may want to save time in doing.
This knife only has a one warranty on parts and labor. But, do not worry about that, because since you will not be using this every day basis if there is something wrong or if something is going to go wrong it will probably go bad in the first use. I can highly recommend this to any who wants to save time at the holidays. Five stars for the weight and ease of use that this has to offer. You can purchase this on line but you will have to pay for shipping and handling which will put your costs well above the original price.
