Excellent Miami hotel close to airport

Written: Apr 27 '05
Pros:Close to airport, clean, inviting. You are out of town fast.
Cons:A bit noisy from slamming doors and other rooms/ bathrooms.
The Bottom Line: This hotel is clean, staff friendly, pool nice. It's above standard motels, close to airport and Everglades.

This is an excellent hotel, 5 minutes from Miami International Airport. The sparkling clean 2 story high lobby provides big couches to sit on, brown tapestry walls and a nice big painting as well as nice decoration. There is a shop and a there is a stairway - not to heaven, 150 but to the breakfast room on 2nd floor. This room is spacious and well lit, decorated with flowers. A door opens to the poolside on rooftop of the garage. Poolside is video surveilled and provides a jacuzzi as well as plenty of seating capacity. You can have your breakfast out there.
Juice, coffee, tea and fresh fruit are provided 24 hours in the breakfast room.

Staff was outrageous friendly and helpfully (a lady from Colombia). Her words my home is your home really made us feel very comfortable here.

Hotel is a small skyscraper with several floors. Parking in the covered parking garage as well the parking lot is free. Access for garage and elevators only with roomkey.
The rooms are sparkling clean and very inviting, one of the nicest budget hotels I know! For a very good price , regarding it is in Miami and close to Tamiami Trail as well as to some more mainroads and interstates. Across the street you will find a small shopping plaza with Publix, drugstores, restaurants and some more shops. You can walk to it.

Rooms are spacious, we had 2 double. Room includes a table, two chairs, a writing desk, closet, TV with remote and about 30 channels, enough lamps to lighten the evenings (which is important for me!), and you have 2 phones, alarm-clock and can get wake-up calls. Colours are bright and pastel.
Bathroom with sink, tub and toilet is an extra room. They provide nice toiletries (even lotion) and you can get more complimentary stuff from front-desk. There is a hairdryer als well. Toilet flushes really loud.
In room they provide free wireless internet or internet on TV (to pay for, as well as for videos). They have new bed-trays to work on and you get a free bottle of water and some ritz-bits. Air-conditioning is silent and windows soundproof (you hardly hear the planes or traffic noise).
Walls are thin though, you hear people walking and all bathroom noises from around, and sometimes the walls make crackling noises. The room doors to not close well to the indoor corridors and can easily be slammed which is disturbing during night. Over night you get your invoice pushed from outside under the door into the room.

4 fast elevators, clean, spacious and well maintained are provided.

Breakfast included cornflakes, oatmeal, bananas, fruitsalad, muffins, bagles, toast and some hot french toast and hamburgers. 2 attendants took care of the breakfast buffet, cleaned tables and refilled food.
Unfortunately there is no fridge in room.
