Pros: location very convenient to the highway
Cons: staff was unfriendly
The Bottom Line: Although the hotel was clean, it didn't live up to the Hampton Inn standards and I won't return.

| travel2010's Full Review: Hampton Inn Hazleton Pa |
I recently stayed at the Hazleton Hampton Inn after reading various reviews on the area. The hotel is located right off of Rt. 81 so it was very convenient to the highway.
One side of the hotel overlooks a valley and it offers rooms with a view for an additional fee. I paid an extra $20 for the view. The other side of the hotel has the highway.
When I booked a Valleyview room, I wasn't aware that the hotel is in a fog area. So all I could see out my window was white from the fog. The view is likely nice on a clear day.
I was pleasantly surprised to find a DVD player in my room along with a refrigerator, microwave and sink. The room also had a coffee maker, hairdryer, iron, ironing board, curved shower rod, and wireless internet. The lobby had a business center that consisted of two computers.
In the hotel guide in my room I read about milk and cookies being delivered at night. I never received the milk or cookies so this might be something the hotel discontinued.
My room also had a menu for the Top of the 80s restaurant adjacent to the hotel. The menu in the room was much different than the actual restaurant. The cheapest item at the restaurant was $16 for spaghetti. $40 steaks were also on the menu.
I was the only guest in the restaurant and soon after I arrived I could figure out why. The restaurant was very disorganized. I was there at 6:30pm. The employees were talking about fellow employees where I could hear every word. This went on for my whole dinner. My server wasn't attentive and never refilled my beverage. The restaurant was attempting to be a fine dining establishment but was just expensive and lacked quality and the ambiance of fine dining.
The hotel offered a free hot breakfast in the morning. The breakfast attendant was busy playing computer games then keeping the breakfast area in order. There were cereals, muffins, donuts, bagels, breads, and eggs to choose from.
I will try another hotel on any return visits to Hazleton as this hotel didn't impress me for a return visit.
The room was clean and a good size but the staff was not pleasant.
