Pros: Close to Kennywood Amusement Park & freeways
Cons: No jacuzzi, outdoor pool, one cup coffeemaker, rude staff, smelly mattress
The Bottom Line: Stay here on for an emergency. Marriott is next door.

We arrived at 11:30AM with the HiltonHHonors 25,000 point award for a free room for 2 adults. We have been staying at Hilton Hotels for years and enjoy a quiet, well stocked room. Our preferance states King or 2 queen beds, top floor, away from elevator. Rooms have microwave & fridge, Free high speed Internet for laptops & a free business center to use their computer.
So walked into the reception desk & the woman there was handed our paperwork, which she looked at & gave us a look like we were not her guests. I mentioned that guewts do not deserve a look like that, but a welcome to Hampton Inn. She shook her head stating that we have no room, they are sold out. I tell her to read on since we have room 302, last room on the 3rd floor, right side. Check out time is 11AM so folks are gone by Noon. So I aked her if I call Hilton to inquire or she is contacting her housekeeping to see if we are ready to move in. She then tells us the room is ready.
So we move in. Then off to Kennywood for a day of rollercoasters from the 1920's - 1968 that still give a thrill to all who ride them. Then they have 2007 steel coaster if you can figure out to to get on it. All we found was the exit. Rain hit at 5PM so we headed back to the hotel, which was another exciting adventure since the road has a cement wall from North to South lanes with even a steel fence going up on the wall. So a U Turn at the light too go South now to get into the parking lot of Hampton Inn.
They have an outdoor pool & no jacuzzi, but we could get a suite for $80 more to enjou a jacuzzi. So I took the hot water & the massaging shower. Then the laugh when the shower curtain was cut to 2" from the tub, so the air from the exhause fan with the power of water from the shower has it blowing out over the floor, so I have a pool on the floor. SO 4 towel suck it all up. No housekeeping on the floor to get more towels. So we just relaxed in bed watching TV & we both fell asleep. Then I am awakened by a strange smell at 3AM. It is the bed & smells like urine but the sheets are not stained. Husband agreed, so I thru the sheets back on & covered with the duvet. Now I have the feeling of softballs in between 2 sheets. The stuffing of the duvet has not been shaken out to release the down or whatever they use. So you have large mounds of it between the sheets making the duvet.
So I got dressed & my laptop is busy with weather back home & what the day in Pittsburg will be. RAIN! Storms in the afternoon from Cincinnati, Columbus to Pittsburgh. So down for breakfast at 6am. Sliced sausage with quartered waffles are the hot items. Neither is hot. They did have sugar free syrup for them and a 4 slice toaster for bagels or english muffins & waffles that I put in to warm up.
Then we emailed Hilton at the lack of service, jacuzzi for adults, dirty beds under the sheets, etc. By the time we got home I have a message that our 25K points were put back. Told them I would let folks know what to expect. They tell me franchises are all different unfortunately but when customers let them know they will get them to meet the requirements.
