I hadn't read the book "Silence of the Lambs" but did see the movie, and thought it was horribly wonderful! So when I heard that another book, based on the Hannibal Character was coming out, I couldn't wait.
I wasn't disappointed with the graphic, and somewhat disgusting description of the characters involved with Hannibal. I wasn't expecting anything less than what I read, which was good, since many follow-up novels, don't always have the same "zing" the first one did.
The evil of the character who was hunting Hannibal, was just as intense as Hannibal himself. The plot to destroy Hannibal with the pigs was a unique twist, that added realism, just beyond what the human mind wants to believe.
I found myself sitting here late into the night, reading to see what the next twist will be, finding that when I did go to bed, I was unsettled by the story.
I found that even though I knew what the next move would be, the author added just enough twist to it, to make me not think predictable!
I suspected that the ending was going to go in the direction it went, but still wasn't positive until the final pages, which made for a good read.
I wouldn't recommend this to someone who is not into a bit of gore, horror, and some shear fright. This book leaves you on the edge of your seat, waiting to turn to the next page, but scared to read what it says.
