Pros: Good points about political views.
Cons: No plot, a long and drawn out movie.
The Bottom Line: I would wait and rent this one for the kids, it was long for me and I believe the children were falling asleep.

Plot Details: This opinion reveals major details about the movie''s plot.
Lets face it previews can make the anticipation for a movie very edge of the seat. That is what happened for me and Happy Feet. I wanted to see it. I think it was a preview that showed all of the funny parts and not much of the plot. It didnt show much plot because the movie didnt really have one. I couldnt tell if it was a penguin being outcast, trying to discover who he was, or to save the whole Emperor population. It was as if they stuck plots from other movies that were great and made a really long cartoon out of them. I wasted my money that is what I did.
I expected a lot of comedy because there were such big names as the voices of the penguins, Robin Williams, come on he is hilarious. Loveless, William's character, not much of a part in the film and not the funniest. Happy Feet never matured as fast as the other penguins, something my friends and I couldnt figure out. I mean just because he cant sing doesnt mean that he wouldnt mature at the same rate as every other penguin, not to mention he was the only one without his real feathers.
This seemed more of a political movie. When Happy Feets father wanted him to stop dancing Happy Feet says you cant ask me to change who I am. That is a very profound statement, and a huge problem parents and teenagers face together. There was an obvious difference in beating someone up because they are a little different than you are. Happy Feet not being able to sing is equivalent to what most nerds face in schools today. There were also racial differences and comments that followed how our society today is reacting to immigration of the people from Mexico. Some other major issues are brought up in this childrens movie. My friend said what a good way to get those points across in a movie they know most parents are going to take their children to. I agree with her, but it made the movie long and drawn out. We figured it was because the movie didnt have much of a plot so they made it longer trying to incorporate one.
Though it had some amazing points brought out and controversial issues as main topics, I didnt enjoy the movie. I wanted time away from all the political gibber gabber so I went to what appeared to be a funny movie and ended up thinking about politically correct views instead of getting my medicinal dosage of laughter.
I do like how they point out only one mate. I support monogamy, loving your spouse, taking care of the chores equally, and supporting the others decisions. This movie has a great lesson about these marriage issues.
