| Bryan_Carey's Full Review: Hard Rock Cafe |
The Hard Rock Cafe is a well- known restaurant chain that is renowned for its music memorabilia and lively atmosphere. This chain of restaurants started in London, England, where the first Hard Rock Cafe was opened in 1971. There are now more than 100 locations around the world; located mainly in popular tourist destinations.
I have been to many Hard Rock Cafe's, including the ones in London, Paris, San Diego, Chicago, Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, San Antonio, and a few others. The main reason that people visit Hard Rock Cafe is for the atmosphere. Each restaurant has hundreds of rock and roll memorabilia items. These items are rotated from store to store, providing guests with the opportunity to see items that would otherwise require traveling all over the world. They have things like classic guitars, used by some of the best known musicians in rock; platinum records; posters; clothing; sheets of original music; rare photographs; and many, many other interesting items.
Music is a standard feature at all Hard Rock Cafes, and it can sometimes get rather loud. Some of the restaurants even feature live music, which can really make your head pound, considering the small size of some of the restaurants. There is always music playing, along with music videos running non- stop on the numerous television screens.
The service is decent at Hard Rock Cafe. But be prepared to wait in line for a while, especially if you visit one of the more popular tourist destination spots, like London, England. The food is American- style, featuring burgers and fries, steak, and other sandwiches. The menu is fairly diverse, with a good dessert section and a large selection of appetizers. The portions are very generous. In fact, many of the appetizers are so large that they can easily fill you up, all by themselves. And some of the main dishes are large enough for two people. Prices are a bit steep, but you do get your money's worth with many of the food items. I have found that the quality varies from one restaurant to another, so don't be surprised if you happen to select an item that doesn't live up to your standards. Most of it, though, is quite good.
A visit to Hard Rock Cafe would not be complete without buying some Hard Rock memorabilia of your own. Each Hard Rock Cafe has a gift shop/stand featuring things like t-shirts, sweatshirts, shot glasses, glassware, etc. The gifts are pricey. A t-shirt, for example, will cost you nearly $20 in most locations. If you want to get a shirt, but you don't like the high prices, just look around for other gift shops in the area. There are usually many gift stores located nearby that sell Hard Rock Cafe t-shirts and sweatshirts. You can save a few dollars, but remember that these items are not authentic. The Hard Rock Cafe tag, on the collar, is proof of an authentic Hard Rock Cafe clothing item. These cheaper substitutes do have the hard Rock name on the front, but they are just duplicates.
Hard Rock Cafe is a fun, high- energy place to visit. It's a great place for the rock and roll lover; with a great atmosphere full of music memorabilia and classic tunes. Look for one on your next vacation trip. They are located in many popular tourist spots and they will get you reminiscing about your favorite songs from the past. The food is pretty good, but the main reason to go is atmosphere. Enjoy!
