| seattlety's Full Review: Hard Rock Hotel |
Me and my family stayed here for 5 days in June. We were incredibly impressed. At first, we were thinking of staying at a Disney Hotel. But the low prices and perks of staying at a Universal Hotel won us over. We are very glad we did. This is the best hotel we have ever stayed at.
ARRIVAL & CHECK-IN
We pulled up the beautifully landscaped driveway and saw a stylish, Spanish Style hotel. We walked into the very funky lobby, with sunken sitting room's and signed in. Upon check-in they told us our room was not ready. They upgraded us to the concierge floor for free. The entire hotel is very funky and modern, yet comfortable. We walked of the lobby on to the 2nd story patio and overlooked the pool and well-manicured grounds. Off the lobby there is a spiral staircase that goes down to the pool level, ice-cream shop and gym.
THE ROOM
Our room was very stylish and modern and VERY comfortable. For our family of four (2 kids ,13 & 10)There was a king bed, a blue, pull-out couch, bright modern chair and funky-shaped ottoman. The bathroom was GORGEOUS. Outside the bathroom itself was a large counter and sink, inside the bathroom itself there was a glass, pedestal sink and tilting mirror along with the shower. Very spacious.
THE POOL
Here's the fun part, the pool. It is a big bean shaped pool with a sand pool deck. Its so nice being in Florida, poolside with sand under your toes. There was a pretty long water slide, and a beach volleyball court. There also is a pool side bar. The kiddie pool is a zero-depth pool going to 1 foot deep with 4 geysers.
THE PARKS
It is incredible how close this hotel is to the parks. It is about a 2-minute walk through beautiful gardens to the Gates of Universal Studios. If you walk past Universal Studios you reach Citywalk. A very fun nightspot (I Highly Recommend Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville, VERY COOL) Islands of Adventure is a few feet beyond that.
CUT TO THE FRONT OF THE LINE PASS
This is the ultimate plus of staying at the Hard Rock. The front of the line pass. Unlike Disney's FASTPASS, you go to the attraction and get in a special line that literally cuts to the front of the line. You're thinking... well that line is probably long too. WRONG! We got through 1 hour wait lines in under 5 minutes! We did some attractions 3 times in 15 minutes. Mind you, this is during the peak season in the summer. It's Wonderful. We did 5 times the attractions we could have done without the pass.
