| notperfectalas's Full Review: harman/kardon AVR 320 5.1 Channels Receiver |
Fry's had this unit on sale the day after Thanksgiving for $299. I had to stand in line for over three hours, but it was worth it. (I believe I got a new unfurbished unit, though there were boxes on sale that were tagged as factory refurbished units.)
The unit is fantastic for home theater use. I was initially leary about whether 55 watts per channel was enough. No worries; it can shake my house. I use it in conjunction with a polk audio center, two mission front speakers, and a pair of baby polks for rear. (I know, mismatched, but it's what i got.) Great, crisp sound (dts and prologic II, depending on the souuce). (Watching "Gladiator" with its DTS sound off a dvd player with a faroudja chip on 65" widescreen is simply awesome.
The neo-cinema feature to emulate surround sound for non-dolby material is also an attractive feature.
The other reveiwers have already listed the many other plusses about this unit. I only wanted to add a thrid "five-star" recommendation and to allay any concerns out there that 55 watts was not enough (at least for home theater use).
