My boyfriend and I often make trips to Chicago for the weekend and we're always looking for new restaurants to try out. While in the mood for a semi-casual , comfortable dining experience we decided to try out Harry Caray's Bar as we'd heard recommendations from others.
The atmosphere was cozy and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Although it was busy on a Saturday night we had very little wait for a table without having a reservation which was great.
We both ordered salads that were huge but very fresh and tasty. After eating it I was afraid I might not be able to eat my meal but I did manage.
The restaurant is big on meat so if you enjoy beef I would really recommend it. You'de love it. My boyfriend and I both decided to try the steak and it was wonderful. I am generally pretty picky when it comes to beef but this was very tender and tasty.
Just for future reference all items on the menu are ala carte so if you are planning to go all out the meal can get a bit pricey. However, be warned that the portions are large so if you aren't a huge eater then you probably won't want to order a great deal. The salad and steak was more than enough for me.
Also, be sure to take some time to look at the memorabilia displays around the bar as they have some really great stuff in there. It's worth the trip just for that!
