JiggyJay's Full Review: J. K. Rowling - Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Sto...
If you are one of the few people who havent heard of Harry Potter, then you must be crazy because this hit phenomenon has swept the world by storm. This book is the reason that kids are reading nowadays. With the gutsy storyline and cool characters, the books are incredible. The Sorcerers Stone is the first book in the 7 part series. There are now four books, with the fifth coming this summer, and this one is the best one because it introduces you to all the characters. You dont want to waste your precious money on a book that youll only read once? Well, Ive read the first book (the one you are reading about) five times and all the other three times. Thats how good these books are especially The Sorcerers Stone.
STORY
**SPOILER ALERT maybe**
A boy named Harry Potter lived with his Aunt and Uncle when mysteriously he receives a letter that invites him to go to school at a school of Witchcraft and Wizardry named Hogwarts. His Aunt and Uncle wont let him go, so its up to Hagrid to scare the muggles (non-magic folk) into letting Harry go. As Harry learns more about his mysterious past, he becomes more accustomed to the new world that hes just traveled into. He learns that about a questionable stone that can give unlimited life, so with help from his newly found friends, Hermione and Ron, he has to stop the evil presence from getting to the stone and become immortal. He has to stop the same person who killed his parents and gave him the lightning scar on his forehead. He has to kill Voldemort.
CHARACTERS
Harry Potter: Being the main character, he has to have a lot of charisma and charm and he does all the way. His character has a good conscience and is full of emotion. He is probably the most human character in this book because hes like a normal kid. He isnt good a school, but just enough to get by and he has good moral values. Hes an all around cool little bastard.
Hermione Granger: Shes a prissy, smart girl who is over emotional and over exaggerating on every front and to tell you rightly, she is sort of annoying. Whats interesting about her character is that you can tell that she might have crush on Harry because shes always complementing him and being really cool to him. Plus, shes just a nice home girl whom I give props to.
Ron Weasley: Hes probably the most humorous character in the books. He brings a good aura to each books that hes a nice dude who is just a cool character. To tell you the truth, Id rather hang out with Ron then any other character because hes so pathetic, but cool. Hes poor and he sucks at homework my kind of dude. His lines are creative and funny and really bring and likeness to the book like no other.
Why did I give my title that dastardly name? Because of the notorious Albus Dumbledore, the headmaster of Hogwarts. All of his lines sound like hes high for some reason. Maybe its just me, but I think he just sounds weird with his out-of-it lines and have you heard his dialogue from the Harry Potter movies? Hes doing more than casting spells with that wand of his
Also, be warned that there might be a lot of books in the series that you may not be able to pronounce, but dont fret because there are a lot of websites with pronunciations.
JAYS SIDENOTE CORNER MAN, IM AN IDIOT
Most likely if youve watched the movies, then you will love the book. The book, in stark contrast, is much better so I suggest that you read the book first and then watch the movies later. Also, just to tell you, for some reason this book is banned in counties because they think sorcery is evil (even though they sell movies based on sorcerers, sell music like Brujeria, which means Witchcraft in Spanish, and stuff like that THOSE BASTARDS!!!!).

BOTTOM LINE
If you like Fantasy books or RPG games, then most likely you will love these books. I have known many people who have read this book that are adults and they even like it. This movie appeals to a lot to different groups of people from beginning age to seniorseveryone likes these books and thats really amazing and a weird thing to see. Also, another side note that didnt make it in my corner is that JK Rowling is awoman. A lot of authors do this because we have a sexist industry and if a female is writing in a genre that isnt romance, no one is going to read it, so she used her initials (J is for Joan and K is for Kathryn I think) so that it tricked people into it and I think that is brilliant and she pulled it off nicely. These books are great and I think that everyone should read them, including you, so try your luck and buy the first book in the series right now.
QUOTE FOR THE REVIEW: My name is Harry Potter. (Say it to yourself in a heavy British accent and you know what Im talking about. The results are hilarious.
