Pros: Child gets to mix and fed baby food like a real baby
Cons: expensive, loosing hair, doesn't work more than 1/2 the time. NOT DURABLE!
The Bottom Line: I would not buy this doll too many problems for the money.

I purchased the baby alive for my 7 year old daughter for Christmas this year (2006). The doll was from Santa Claus and appeared to be really cool, durable and advanced in technology. I thought this was a perfect gift since my daughter wants a sibling I'm not ready for. First I bought it for $49.99 and made sure the packaging or box was not damaged in anyway. I brought the doll home and wrapped it. On Christmas morning my daughter was so excited to get the doll she could not wait to get it out of the package. I opened it for her and turned it on. My daughter started to feed it and it started to act like the batteries were dying and was not eating the food like shown. I placed new batteries in side and it worked for about 10 min. and started to do it again. This time it quite working all together. I reset the doll and it was ok for at least a few hours. The doll then eat and drank its recommended level of food and water and pooped after 3 min, but then continued to make a mess when my daughter every time my daughter picked up the doll for at least 1 hour. Now it was only drops, but it was getting everywhere. The doll then stopped and had to be reset again. My daughter who I think takes fairly good care of her toys found the hair to the doll also coming out and landing all over her clothes. The doll is now 3 days old works half of the time and has only 1/2 a head of hair. The doll is a pain to clean and gets dirty really fast and extremely easy. Not to mention the doll had a very limited vocabulary and only says 5-6 phrases over and over again when its working. This doll is not worth it and I would not buy it. If the doll wasn't from Santa I would bring it back and ask for a refund!
