The new Baby Alive dolls are much better than the one I had as a child back in the 70's. They are a little more realistic with the mouth movement than they were back then. They are great for kids who love dolls. It is realistic enough to be fun for kids to play with, but not so realistic that it creeps them out. I love the way the Baby Alive Doll's skin feels. It is very soft and smooth. When I had this doll back in the 70's I can remember the mouth made this horribly loud noise when you fed it. Fortunately, they have improved that problem. I was thrilled to see this doll return because it simply brought back great memories that I can now share with my granddaughter. The only problem I have with them now is the same problem my mom had with them in the 70's. Buying the food can be very expensive depending on how often the child likes to feed it. For most kids feeding the doll is the main activity. Fortunately, there is a substitute food for it and you can find the recipe for it at this link http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1304022/substitute_food_for_baby_alive_dolls.html It will save you tons of money.
