| bhweb22's Full Review: Hasbro Busy Ball Popper |
We moved into a new house a few months ago. In leiu of installing a costly home security system, we decided to go a cheaper route. We let our young son keep his toys out all around the house. Consequently, walking through the family room is like navigating a minefield. Only the strong survive. And certainly no-one gets through without alerting us to their presence with a tune or two. You see, all of the toys that Insider 2.0 plays with make noise.
Many of them are annoying. Some of them are pretty cool. The Playskool Air-Tivity Ball Popper is one of the cool ones. It comes ready to go out of the box. Aside from snapping two large plastic pieces onto the frame and inserting 4 D size batteries, you're seconds from baby-pleasing ball popping fun. According to the product's literature it has the following specs:
Shipping weight in pounds: 2.5
Product Measurement in inches: 8.5 x 3.31 x 17.38
Here's how it works:
The body of the machine is a blue and clear plastic housing. The side of this apparatus has a maroon housing that contains a pretty powerful fan, which blows air up through the top. You connect a large oval orange plastic piece to the top, and a circular yellow plastic piece on top of this. All three pieces connect to form a winding track. Inside the housing, the balls wait to be blown out of the top into the yellow circle. The machine ships with 5 balls -- red, blue, yellow, green and purple.
On the side of the orange track, there is a red plunger. When you push it down, the blower goes on and the balls pop up and roll down the track. Sometimes they blow out of the machine entirely and bounce on to the floor.
Once the plunger is pushed down, the music starts. It goes for about 2 minutes and then shuts off.
Why Insider 2.0 Loves It
Well, first, it's colorful. The balls and the machine are bright plastic. Second, it makes fun noises. The music is stuff he recogizes, and it repeats about 6 songs. Lastly, the balls are great. Insider 2.0 loves to watch the balls bounce around -- he grabs them and throws them back into the track, or sometimes he just throws them on the floor.
And Mom and Dad like it because it's entertaining to watch, Insider 2.0 gets some exercise when he uses it, and most importantly, it shuts itself off after a few minutes.
